Social Responsibility

logo-aprobado-JPGFor nineteen years, we have focused our efforts on the development of a comprehensive project to improve the living standards of coffee communities in Nicaragua. The implementation of this model has had a profound impact on the rural communities. This has been possible through alliances with roasters, financial institutions, ministries and non-governmental organizations.

Over these years, our corporate social responsibility programs have concentrated on education and health. In the education sector, our Digital Seeds Program has had an impact on more than six thousand students and approximately one hundred teachers. What began as a school sponsorship Project has become an integrated teaching model without precedence in Latin America, using technology to catalyze improvement in education.

Additionally, through our Healthy Seeds Program, we have joined efforts to provide access to health care services to people in the most remote communities of Nicaragua.  Our alliance with Operation Smile Nicaragua has enabled us to build a network to identify cases of cleft lip and cleft palate in northern Nicaragua, leading to successful operations on more than five hundred people.

In 2013, we reached an important milestone with the establishment of our foundation Seeds for Progress, a U.S.-based non-profit organization, registered under the 501(c) (3) code. This foundation represents our social arm, with the purpose of expanding our reach to more coffee-growing communities.

Conscious of the enormous challenge that this represents, we invite you to learn more about our projects and become involved in this great cause so that, together, we can work in the development of these areas in need and decrease the poverty gap.
