The word Monimbo comes from the Nahualt indigenous language which means “close to the water”. Although the Monimbo farm was named after its first owner, the Marenco family has lived up to the meaning of its name by taking good care of the estate’s abundant water sources. The Monimbo farm is located in the northern region of Nicaragua in Jinotega and has a maximum altitude of 1,350 meters above sea level. They are also deeply committed to their community and are active donors of the Nicarao School working in collaboration with the Seeds for Progress Foundation.
